Quiapo Church traces its origins to the 1700s and became home to the Black Nazarene, a revered image believed to have miraculous powers. It has long served as a focal point of Filipino Catholic devotion and has witnessed countless religious traditions, gatherings, and community events throughout the centuries.

Present Day

The basilica remains an active center of worship and cultural activity. Large crowds visit daily to attend masses and join devotional practices. The surrounding district remains busy with vendors, old shops, and heritage sites that continue to reflect the area’s vibrant history.
